Tsubame-Sanjo (Niigata) is Japan's capital of Western-style cutlery and precision metalwork, distinct from Gifu's Seki and Osaka's Sakai. It is the actual home of Global, Tojiro, and Tamahagane, three brands with huge international followings that are frequently, and wrongly, called "Seki" knives.

These three profiles set the record straight, each with a company-profile block and verified contact details.

3 Tsubame-Sanjo Makers

Why these belong here, not in Seki. Global (Yoshida Metal Industry), Tojiro (Fujitora Industry), and Tamahagane (Kataoka & Co.) are all Niigata companies in the Tsubame-Sanjo region. They're often mislabeled "Seki" because both are famous Japanese knife areas, but they are different prefectures and different manufacturing traditions.
